Rorschach’s in drains
I returned to the maze drain in hawthorne to paste up my Rorschach tests. I used portions of my inital vapour drawings to start exploring ideas of subconsious biases and hidden and invisible systems. I think it’s really interesting how while the space has everything needed to be very scary and dangerous its actually so serene and it made me think what it is that makes me scared. I was thinking about screen printing directly into the drains, but this was logistically difficult to achieve in a week, so I thought i’d use wheat paste and apply them to the drain walls. I printed onto a very thin paper so that it was adhere better with the walls, and packed my backpack with my supplies. My friend held the torch for me and I photographed a few of the many I pasted up.
