Maze Drain

I entered the drains. Through a friend of a friend I was given a tour of the maze drain in Hawthorne, and I was surprised. I was prepared to be scared and uncomfortable, but for the 2-3 hours I spent in the drains I was overwhelmed by how beautiful and serene it was. I was struck by the silence and how safe and relaxed I was. We checked the weather before entering, and I was prepared for the dark and a few splashes of water, but it was so intensely black and I kept slipping, but it was such a good experience. We found calcified spiders and tags from the 80s, and it was so much less scary than I expected, I’ll be returning and exploring further in my practice.
